History

GarantieBio, a Quebec organic certification organization, was registered in 1995 by two people with experience in organic certification: France Gravel and Jean Marc Aubé.

GarantieBio rapidly built its reputation as a certification program in Quebec because of its client-focussed approach. The Company statute, established in 1999, allows us to offer made-to-measure services to meet the needs of today's businesses

GuarantieBio developed an association with Ecocert SA in 1997. This led to a more active partnership in 2000 with the purchase of shares in the company by Ecocert SA, based in the southwest of France, near Toulouse. Ms Gravel remains the other shareholder in the company.

Thus this new enterprise, Ecocert Canada, is now one of the leaders in organic and environmental certification in Canada.

Today, when you buy a product that's certified organic by Ecocert Canada, we guaranteed that production and marketing rules for organic agricultural products have been respected throughout the entire manufacturing process. Ecocert Canada does on-site inspections in order to guarantee that these standards are respected.

Active since 1995, we are solidly established in Quebec and operate in all provinces in Canada. The competence and rigour of our certification process is recognized by our ISO Guide 65 accreditation, issued by the CARTV.

Our partnership with Ecocert SA, a control organization working in Europe and operating in over 90 countries can give your products access to all markets.

Ecocert Canada, as a certification organization, promises to:

Verify that production standards are respected by conducting annual and unannounced visits.
Deliver a certificate attesting to the conformity of each product produced with organic production methods after a control is completed.
Offer prompt, quality service, so as to give our clients access to various targeted markets.

As a private corporation, Ecocert Canada is independent from all commercial structures. A team of qualified inspectors, trained according to our needs, carry out on-site inspections. Members of the various decisional committees oversee the application of rules impartially. These people, coming from the organic agricultural and professional milieu, work as volunteers in these decision-making positions. And finally, everyone working on files must respect the confidentiality of the client.
